Need to discuss with SKB on T1 sample |
We're discussing Eagle's tooling design with tooling vendor. There are two ways to proceed with the slide surfaces. 1. Mold by 4 pcs sliding block =>There will be a weld line on each corner. (It's not obvious on Amazon fire TV because the four corners are designed by the nearly right angle. However, you can feel the mold line when you touch the corner) 2. Mold by 1pcs sliding block + cold-cavity mold => There will be 2 mold lines on the rear side, and the angle of lines will be 3 degrees. Because we need the sliding block to I/O holes, the mold lines are not avoided. I attached a photo for your reference about the mold line with 3 degrees, and I think it'll be more obvious on Eagle because the current texture of each side surface is polishing. I suggest that we discuss this issue with SKB and see whether they insist to use the polishing texture on the rear side before hard tooling. |

After a full discussion with the tooling vendor, our mechanical engineer provided three proposals for your reference. Because it impacts to tooling schedule, tooling sample schedule, and cost, could we have a decision within 3/13? |

We discussed with SKB engineer. She confused about weld line. She knew weld line as a wave-shaped spot. And she think parting line that 2 toolings make a line. She knew we cannot remove parting line. So we will get some samples of their product before tomorrow. If I can get this sample, then I will send it to you through Mr. Vincent Tong. And they worried about the angle between bottom and side face. So we keep our original design. Its angle is 91.5 degree. And please keep Eagle parting line(Weld line) as smaller as we can. Please check the Parting line(Weld line) of sample that I will send tomorrow. And let me know you can manage it or not. |
